If you have a topic already that you know of, I would say research on it and have as much command over it as you can. Determine your facts and figures and align your views and thoughts on it. If you get to know about the topic right at the competition spot, try and remember all you know about it and jot it down in a sequence. If you remember any quotations and sayings on it, don’t forget to use them as a discussion point or as a justification pointer.
When there is a contest you are looking forward to and you have to submit your piece within a certain deadline, make sure it’s done before the date given and get it checked from people that you know can correct it. Get some help on the vocabulary and facts and make your writing paragraphs even better to read and interesting. Make sure the content is neither too descriptive nor too shallow for a reader because too much of anything is going to ruin the piece. It should be in the middle of knowledge and information. The reader should get the idea of the opinion you possess about the topic and judgments you have made so far.
